Ian is the Communications Lead at Future Economy Scotland. He is also a freelance business and financial journalist. He is author of the critically acclaimed book ‘Shredded: Inside RBS The Bank That Broke Britain’ and has a part-time role doing communications for SEDA Land, part of the Scottish Ecological Design Association.

Prior to joining Future Economy Scotland, Ian’s roles have included business editor at Sunday Times Scotland, financial editor of the Sunday Herald and lecturer in financial journalism at Stirling University. He worked as researcher and consultant on several BBC investigative programmes on banking and finance, was consulting editor on Bloomsbury’s Qfinance, and acting editor of Director Magazine. He has an MA (honours) from the University of St Andrews.
